Chapter Five
Logroño
Einstein quote. Public art next to the university science complex.
Feast of San Mateo and the regional wine harvest. BIG university town, party in the street for 3 days.
One of Logrono's beautiful bridges.
Catedral de Santa Maria de la Redonda (14th century)
Albergue in Cirueña.
Cirueña bunk.
Leaving in the dark the next morning,
Metal statue of a medieval pilgrim near the crossroad.
The speck in the sky is a hot air balloon, my company for the morning.
Next stop: Santo Domingo

But  I was not completely alone. As the sunrise reached its most perfect, crystal clear moment of the first lightening of the day, I looked up to see a hot air balloon in the distance serenely floating through the morning sky. It felt like layer upon layer of beauty and happiness.  I crested the long, gently inclined hill without a problem and from that height, I was delighted to see the city of Santo Domingo ahead of me in the distance.
